December 9: Inner Calm in Busy Times
Dear Readers,
Maya darted through the crowded city square, arms laden with shopping bags, her to-do list running like a ticker in her mind. She still needed to find the perfect gift for her sister, wrap presents, send cards, and bake cookies for her office party. The festive chaos buzzed around her—cheerful yet overwhelming.
As she waited to cross the street, Maya caught sight of an elderly man sitting on a bench, calmly feeding pigeons. His face was serene, untouched by the hurried energy around him. She paused, almost mesmerized by his quiet presence amidst the noise.
At that moment, Maya made a choice. Instead of rushing to the next store, she wandered to a small café nearby. She ordered a warm chai latte, found a corner table, and allowed herself to just sit.
Outside, the world continued to whirl, but inside, she felt the rush ebb away. She sipped her drink, her grandmother’s words echoing in her mind: “The world may rush, but your soul doesn’t have to.”
God Bless You All…
