December 12:Finding Rest and Reflection...
Dear Readers,
Nora collapsed onto her favorite rocking chair, wrapping herself in a knitted blanket. The day had been a whirlwind decorating the tree, baking cookies, and preparing for her children’s visit tomorrow. Now, the house was quiet, the only sounds coming from the crackling fireplace and the soft hum of Christmas music.
She cradled a steaming mug of cocoa in her hands and let her gaze drift to the twinkling lights on the Christmas tree. Each ornament told a story handmade crafts from her children’s younger years, delicate glass globes from her travels, and a star at the top that had belonged to her grandmother.
Nora allowed herself to linger in the moment, reflecting on the year gone by. It had been filled with challenges, but also with growth. She whispered a quiet prayer of gratitude, letting the stillness settle around her like a comforting embrace.
Rest found her there, not in sleep, but in the peace that comes from pausing to appreciate life’s simple joys.

Dec 12: Finding Rest and Reflection
Poem:
In the quiet of twilight, when the world stands still,
Find a place of rest, a moment to fill.
Reflect on the paths that brought you here,
Let go of the doubt, the worry, the fear.
Rest in the embrace of the evening's grace,
Find peace in stillness, in this sacred space.
For in reflection, a truth is found,
A peaceful heart, a soul unbound.
Prayer:
God of peace,
help us find moments of rest and reflection amidst our busy lives.
Renew our spirits, restore our hope, and guide us to Your peace.
Amen.
Jacob M
