Dec 5: Hope for Others – Sharing Kindness

"No one has ever become poor by giving." – Anne Frank

Dear Readers,

The shelter was bustling with activity. Mr. J and his daughter, Lilia, stood behind the serving counter, ladling soup into bowls for the line of guests that stretched out the door.

“Why are they here, Dada?” Lilia whispered, her wide eyes taking in the scene.

“Sometimes, life gets hard,” Mr. J explained, “and people need a little help. That’s why we’re here.”

One man approached, his hands trembling as he accepted his bowl. “Thank you,” he said softly, his voice heavy with emotion.

Lilia hesitated before smiling. “You’re welcome.”

As the evening went on, Lilia grew bolder, offering warm smiles and small conversations with each guest. By the end of the night, her cheeks were flushed, and her heart was full.

On the drive home, Lilia turned to her Father. “Do you think we made them happy?”

“I think we gave them hope,” Mr. J replied, “and that’s the best gift of all.”

God Bless Us All…

Jacob M
